(APPROXIMATELY 2-3 YEARS)
The Wattle Room at Jambra Early Learning Centre is a place where toddlers aged 2-3 years take significant steps toward developing their independence and exploring their individuality. This stage is filled with rapid growth as children begin to express their preferences, develop problem-solving skills, and build deep and meaningful connections with their peers. In the Wattle Room, we foster a sense of autonomy and help children build confidence in their abilities while ensuring they feel supported and encouraged every step of the way.

The Wattle Room program is designed to nurture your child’s growing sense of self while supporting their development in key areas. Key benefits include:
The Wattle Room is a dynamic space designed to inspire creativity and independent learning. Age-appropriate materials are arranged to encourage exploration, experimentation, discovery and accomplishment. Play areas are designed for collaborative play, while quiet corners offer space for rest and reflection. The room includes sensory stations for hands-on discovery, role-play areas to encourage imaginative play, and open spaces for physical activity to support growing motor skills.
In the Wattle Room, our educators focus on building strong, trusting relationships with each child. Through deep relationships, respectful connections and a collaborative approach, they empower children to make choices and express their ideas. Educators provide positive reinforcement, help children manage emotions, and facilitate social interactions to help them build lasting friendships. The goal is to nurture emotional independence while ensuring each child feels secure and valued.
We believe that strong communication between parents and educators is key to your child’s development. In the Wattle Room, we provide regular updates on your child’s progress and milestones, and we actively seek your input to tailor our approach to meet your child’s needs. Your feedback helps us ensure that we’re supporting your child’s growth in a way that aligns with your family’s values and routines.

The Wattle Room builds on the foundational skills developed so far, encouraging greater independence and collaborative play. As your child approaches their third birthday, they’ll transition to the Banksia Room for our junior preschool program, where they’ll experience planned interest-based learning and activities tailored to preschool preparation.
